To Become a Broker — an Illinois broker must be at least 21 years of age. The license requires a high school diploma or GED and a 75 hour broker course plus 15 hours of live interactive. After the pre-license course, a prospective Illinois broker must pass the Illinois state exam. At CREI, you can choose from the conventional course (two days a week, Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday), the home study course or the new intensive study course (four days a week, Monday – Thursday).
What you can do with your broker’s license:
- Bring in potential buyers, sellers or renters — not just residential renters!
- Work with residential OR commercial property.
- Determine a competitive market price for properties and produce property listings. You are much more in control of your listings.
- Prepare loyalty contracts, deeds, purchase agreements and other contracts. More responsibility and control = more $$$.
