Real Estate Industry: Professionals with Heart

All over America, members of the real estate industry give a piece of their heart and soul by getting involved in community service.  Here are a few examples of our colleagues giving back that have happened recently:

Zephyr Real Estate in San Francisco, CA, promotes education through edMatch.  Zephyr donates 10% of its gross commission from any new closed transaction that results from business referred to them through the edMatch program.  Without any extra cost to their clients, Zephyr benefits the local public schools.

Windermere Real Estate has a long-standing tradition of service to their communities in Arizona, California, and Nevada.  Every year employees donate one day of service to better their communities.  After 30 years, they have donated a total of 800,000 hours of service.  Last year’s projects included working at a food bank, a winter coat drive, and working with Street Teens. You can check out their Facebook page for the ongoing service projects Windermere coordinates.

Greater Lakes Association of Realtors donated $5,000 to Minnesota area food shelves recently.

The Santa Fe Association of Realtors held a Masquerade ball on March 3, 2014, at the elegant Las Campanas.  Through ticket sales, they raised $9,000 for Dollars4Schools‘ basic-needs program, helping students get nutritious snacks, lunches and clothing.  They believe that once kids have these basic needs met they are better prepared to learn.

Keller Williams agents of St. Louis spruced up the Ronald McDonald House on May 1, 2014.  They worked on the grounds and planted flowers on their annual “RED Day” which stands for “Renew, Energize and Donate.”  Since 2009, Keller Williams realtors have given up a day of business every year to serve their community.  They hope to show their commitment to the communities where they live.

As realtors reach out to their communities, they make themselves more visible to people.  Of course, this is good marketing, but more important, this is living with integrity.  Realtors who serve others show they want their local neighborhoods to be warm, inviting places to those who relocate.  These communities are places where people want to settle.
