Why an Illinois Real Estate License can be the Beginning of a Great New Career

If you are looking for a new career in these times of high unemployment, you should definitely consider getting an Illinois Real Estate License. How do you know if this may be a good career to pursue? If you are an active person who likes to be out and about and meet a lot of new people, if you like challenge and a fast pace, then a real estate career may be right for you.

This is a career where you are rewarded for what you produce. It is not a static hourly wage job that pays the same no matter how well, or poorly, you perform. If you’re wondering how well you can be rewarded: The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2012, real estate brokers in Illinois had an annual mean income of $75,490. And according to a salary search compiled by Indeed.com, the average salary for a real estate leasing agent was $57,000. To take advantage of these opportunities you will need an Illinois Real Estate License.

Why is Now A Good Time to Become a Real Estate Broker or Leasing Agent?

The economic recovery currently happening across the US has not passed by Illinois. This state is enjoying a substantial increase in real estate sales and home prices. The Illinois Association of REALTORS announced in July 2013 that real estate sales statewide were up 28.5 percent from the previous year. The association also reported that median home prices rose 14.2 percent during the same time period.
