Phil Balick

A Chicago native, and a graduate of Roosevelt University, Phillip Balick has spent most of his working life as a small business owner and as a real estate broker on the North Side of Chicago.  A generalist by nature, the variety of experiences that being a Realtor offers has always been appealing to him.

For the last 12 years he has been informally instructing new agents at his brokerage on techniques involving property evaluation, listing presentations, due diligence procedures, buyer qualification issues, and how to deal with the complexities involved in real estate transactions.

Starting in 2010 Phil decided to formalize this experience by fulfilling the qualifications required to gain both Pre-Licensing, and Continuing Education, Instructor’s licenses. Since that time he has both written and taught CE courses; and taught the pre-licensing curriculum required for licensure in Illinois.

“I’m finding that teaching is one of the most fulfilling endeavors I’ve been involved with. There is inherent enjoyment in layering practical experience on to the textbook requirements to give students a real-life sense of what to expect when the actualities of the new career occur. The best part of this job, as an instructor, is seeing the student’s joy when getting a passing grade after spending a lot of hours in the classroom together.”

    Hello Ronald Hansen,

I got your contact information from the Illinois Department Of Financial and Professional Regulation Division of Real Estate/Real Estate Education website as CREI is listed as an approved school.

I manage the continuing education for ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and would love to be able to offer CE credits to our members in the state of Illinois. However, we are based in NYC and do not have a physical office in the state of Illinois so we are not able to apply to become a continuing education provider in your state. The only way we would be able to offer CE credits at one of our programs or conferences in Illinois would be if we partnered with an approved school.
Would you be interested in partnering with us for one or more of our programs in Illinois so that we may offer CE credit? Please let me know your thoughts when you get a chance.

    Thank you!

Casey Adams, Manager, Continuing Education, International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC)
