If you are interested in a professional career in real estate, the first step is this course offered by the Chicago Real Estate Institute. The 45-hour salesman licensing course is required by the State of Illinois to prepare the candidate for the Illinois Salesperson and Brokers License Examination. Upon completion, you will receive certification by the Chicago Real Estate Institute entitling you to move on to the examination which is required by state law.
Topics covered in the course are ownership, encumbrances, license law, brokerage, contracts, financing, property descriptions, land surveying, deeds and appraising. |

There are no special eligibility requirements for taking these course, however, to be eligible for a real estate license, State law requires that one be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, complete the 45 hour course of instruction, and pass the written State examination.
If after completion, you do not pass the state exam, after three times you have to take the course over. The Chicago Real Estate Institute is licensed by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. |

After clicking on “Apply for this Course” in the application page, you will be taken to our partner RE Campus website where you just select Real Estate and click on Pre-Licensing. If you only want to become a Real Estate Agent, select the course for $225 that is at the bottom of the list. However, if you are planning to become a broker you need to select the top 5 courses that are listed at $115 each. Passing our test qualifies you to take the State Exam.

Correspondence Courses

We have live, knowledgeable instructors unlike other courses which have you sit through hours of video tape.
Classes meet on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday Evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Instructors are experienced and knowledgeable.
Classes are taught by Ron Hansen, 35 year broker in Real Estate with many practical examples relating to class material and by Elka Nelson, a licensed attorney and broker and Thea Pazen, a licensed attorney and broker who has represented both individuals and developers in residential and commercial real estate transactions.

The Chicago Real Estate Institute's correspondence Course offers students the opportunity to complete the course over a period of six months or less.
The correspondence students can also participate in the classroom sessions.
At-Home Study students receive the textbook and homework assignments. Students have 6 months to complete their assignments and may finish as soon as they wish.
Study at your own pace, complete and return the homework assignments then take our test. Passing our test qualifies you to proceed on to the state exam. |
